The knitting accessory we’ll learn to make today is very fun because it can be used either as a bow for the neck or as a belt. Super easy to make, it will give a boost to your outfits. Its length allows for a very wide and really dramatic bow.

Here we paired the bow with a cardigan with worked sleeves made with Piuma yarn in the Monet color.

The chosen yarn is God Save The Cashmere, made from recycled cashmere. Before starting the bow, choose your favorite color from our store.

GAUGE – STOCKINETTE
10 cm x 10 cm / 4″ x 4″
20 stitches and 25 rows

STITCHES USED
Knit
Purl
Vivagno stitch:
on the right side, slip the stitch knitwise; on the wrong side, purl the stitch.
1/1 Rib:
alternate 1 knit stitch and 1 purl stitch on both right and wrong sides.
Stockinette stitch:
row 1: knit
row 2: purl
Repeat rows 1 and 2.

INSTRUCTIONS

Using crochet hook size n° 3 EU / 3 US, cast on 20 stitches.

Row 1: work 1 Vivagno stitch, then repeat (1 knit, 1 purl) until the last stitch, work 1 Vivagno stitch
row 2: repeat row 1. You’ve completed the 1/1 rib border
row 3: work 1 Vivagno stitch, knit to the last stitch, work 1 Vivagno stitch
row 4: work 1 Vivagno stitch, purl to the last stitch, work 1 Vivagno stitch.

Rows 3 and 4 establish the stockinette stitch with Vivagno stitch at the beginning and end of the row. Repeat them until you reach 115 cm / 45.3″ total height or your desired length. Now work rows 1 and 2 for the 1/1 rib border, then bind off. Fold the strip widthwise in half and sew the sides along the Vivagno stitch.
